Today Justin is at work. My day started at 4 AM with my preschooler waking up, demanding that I get out of bed with him, turn on Curious George, and get him some orange juice. 45 minutes of pure hell later including episodes of counting frequently and announcing that it is 4:35, and 4:38, and 4:47 I finally gave in. At 6, I was able to crawl back into bed until 730, when Justin had to get up and get out the door to work by 8.
Twins up: get them out of cribs, get 2 milks, change 2 diapers as they wrestle and cry. Let them watch way too much cartoons. Toast for breakfast.
While locked up in highchairs it's time to do dishes. Jammed to some Flo Rida while drinking my coffee. Pretending I'm at the club and I'm 20 years old with no cares. Boys throw cups on the floor, followed by plates.
Clean faces and hands, open up the toyroom so I can continue to clean the kitchen that has ho knows what on the walls, sticky floor with chalk from Jack drawing on the floor yesterday. Sam announces that Miles is drinking a beer with the cap on. Yes there is beer in the toy room. Don't judge. Miles then breaks the full bottle of beer all over his giant legos. More cleaning, wiping legos, and vaccuming up the glass. Not sure why I didn't just break open another beer for me to drink.
Change diapers x 2 kids crying and wrestling. Sam wants sleeping bags, popcorn, and a movie. Get all supplies together. Heat up spaghetti, make myself a shake & throw together some carrots & avocado. WHEW. Miles proceeds to get into the garbage & dump coffee grounds all over the floor. Sweeping, take garbage out. Baby jail time in highchairs. They boys turn into zombies in their high chairs eating the popcorn, spaghetti, and watching Toy Story 3.
Clearly I need some outlets for myself. Trying to take some time daily for me. Exercise and early bedtime has been helping. Walked Peter Pan yesterday and stopped at one of the little library boxes at a neighbors house. Found Eat, Pray, Love so am pretty stoked about that. New goal to utililize these little libraries more.
Planning mini and big adventures to keep us sane. We have wonderful grandparents for these monsters. Mumford & Sons concert next month with great friends, fun June wedding, girls weekend in July, Boundary Waters in August. Glimpses of NO responsibility can be seen in the near future and it is what Justin & I are holding onto at this point.
We did take out the dining room chairs after being packed away 6 months. Miles has improved by only climbing on the table 6 times a day. Jack is about twice daily.
Looking over at the boys locked up in jail and they are throwing the food onto our poor black lab, whose back is sticky already and he now has spaghetti strings in his hair. Still has brown sugar on him from 3 days ago. This guy needs more love.
